NDH shares nutrition care practices with Polomolok hospital through learning exposure

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — In line with efforts to further improve nutrition services in government hospitals in South Cotabato, the Norala District Hospital (NDH) conducted a one-on-one orientation and learning exposure on the implementation of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) for dialysis and confined patients to Polomolok Municipal Hospital.

The activity involved Ms. Anna Ricar Teves-Lim, RND, MAHE, FPSO, CFPM, Nutritionist-Dietitian II of NDH, who shared the hospital’s current nutrition care practices with Ms. Russel T. Mujeres, RND of Polomolok Municipal Hospital, upon the request of the latter’s institution.

During the exposure, discussions focused on nutritional assessment, meal planning, patient monitoring, documentation, and nutrition interventions being implemented for dialysis and admitted patients at NDH.

NDH Chief Dr. Mila G. Quinton said the activity reflects the importance of collaboration among healthcare institutions in strengthening patient care services in the province.

“Importante ang pagbinuligay sang aton mga healthcare institutions agud mas mapalig-on pa ang nutrition care kag overall patient management sa aton mga ospital diri sa South Cotabato,” Dr. Quinton said.

She added that sharing best practices among public hospitals also helps improve the delivery of healthcare services, especially for patients requiring specialized nutritional management.

The activity forms part of NDH’s continuing commitment to patient-centered healthcare and professional learning among healthcare workers in the province.
