New ECCD building in Barangay Colonggulo strengthens early childhood development efforts in South Cotabato

T’BOLI, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato formally turned over the newly constructed Mansores Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Building to Barangay Colonggulo during a blessing and turnover ceremony on May 29, 2026, reaffirming its commitment to advancing early childhood education and promoting the welfare of young children in the province.

The project is part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to provide child-friendly learning facilities that nurture children’s holistic growth and development during their formative years. The newly completed ECCD building is expected to serve as a safe, conducive, and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, and develop essential life skills.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Sonia L. Bautista emphasized the importance of investing in children and ensuring they have opportunities to thrive at an early age.

“The establishment of this ECCD building reflects our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children and supporting their development. Early childhood is a crucial stage in shaping a child’s future, and providing them with a safe and nurturing learning environment is one of the best investments we can make for our communities,” Bautista said.

The facility will significantly enhance children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development by providing a comfortable space that encourages active learning, creativity, and positive interaction.

She further highlighted that quality early childhood care and development programs play a vital role in preparing children for formal education while helping them build confidence, social skills, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., likewise underscored the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening programs and services that directly benefit children and families.

“Our children are our greatest investment. Through projects like this ECCD building, we are ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in a safe and supportive environment. We believe that building a brighter future begins with providing quality care and education to our youngest constituents,” Governor Tamayo stated.

He added that the provincial government will continue to prioritize initiatives that promote inclusive development and improve access to essential social services, particularly in remote and underserved communities.

The successful implementation of the project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, the Municipal Government of T’boli, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the Barangay Council of Colonggulo, parents, community stakeholders, and the dedicated Child Development Worker assigned to the area.

Their collective support and shared commitment to child welfare demonstrate the importance of partnership in building stronger communities and ensuring that children receive the care, protection, and opportunities they deserve.

The turnover of the Mansores ECCD Building stands as a testament to the Provincial Government’s dedication to investing in human development and empowering communities through programs that prioritize the well-being of children.

As beneficiaries begin using the facility, the project is expected to create a lasting positive impact on the lives of young learners and contribute to the development of a more educated, productive, and resilient generation in South Cotabato.
