New KPSGIA scholars seal commitment through MOA with Provincial Government

South Cotabato, Philippines – The Kabugwason- Paglaum Scholarship and Grant-In-Aid Program (KPSGIAP)  welcomed Batch 21 Regular College Scholars and Batch 10 Postgraduate Scholars during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) orientation and signing held on September 6, 2025, at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center.

The event formalized the scholars’ commitment to pursuing their studies with excellence while being guided by the program’s mission to uplift lives through accessible and quality education.

During the Program, Christine Grace Dela Cruz, a proud alumna of KPSGIAP, shared her testimony/story of perseverance and gratitude.

“I learned that ang kalisod is not a hindrance if our hearts are determined to succeed,” she said, emphasizing the role of determination and faith in her journey.

“Becoming a Kabugwason Scholar opened many doors I never imagined possible. I was able to study at MSU Gensan, pursuing my dream of becoming an Engineer. This success is not mine alone, but also the Kabugwason’s. Without the scholarship, I would not stand before all of you, our future change makers.”

She ended her message with a heartfelt tribute, “Daghang salamat, Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship Program, for making the bridge for my future and the light of hope in my journey.”

Arch. Carlito Y. Uy, PSGIAP Committee Chairperson, also underscored the shared responsibility between the program and its scholars.

“If you fail as a student/scholar, we also fail as Kabugwason. Your success is our success also,” Uy said.

His message highlighted the program’s commitment not only to provide financial support but also to journey with the scholars in their academic and personal growth.

One of the newly admitted Batch 21 Regular College Scholars, Maxine Kate N. Orong, expressed her appreciation for the program.

“The Kabugwason sa Paglaum Scholarship Program is really a big help for us financially and mentally. It motivates me to pursue my career and to pursue my dream future,” she shared.

KPSP continues to embody its name— “paglaum” or “hope”—by empowering young South Cotabateños to achieve their dreams and become catalysts of change in their communities.

Through its ongoing support and strengthened partnerships, the program reaffirms its vision of building a future where education becomes the key that opens opportunities for every deserving student.
