New multi-purpose building to expand community services in Danlag, Tampakan, South Cotabato

SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines — Residents of Barangay Danlag in Tampakan, South Cotabato are set to gain a more suitable and accessible venue for community activities and public services as the Provincial Government of South Cotabato nears completion of a two-storey multi-purpose building in the area.

The ₱4.79-million project is now at the pre-final inspection stage, bringing the facility closer to being ready for use by the community.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. emphasized the importance of providing communities with infrastructure that addresses their needs and creates opportunities for greater participation.

“We want our infrastructure projects to provide lasting and practical benefits to our communities. These facilities should serve as spaces where our people can access services, participate in programs, and work together for the development of their barangay,” Tamayo said.

The building is designed to serve as a central venue for various barangay activities, including community meetings, public programs, social services, government functions, livelihood activities, and other initiatives that require a safe and functional space.

With a dedicated facility, residents will have a more suitable place to participate in community programs and activities, while barangay officials and government agencies will have additional space to conduct services and programs for the public.

The new facility is also expected to support stronger community engagement by providing a common space where residents can gather for activities that promote cooperation, social interaction, and local development.

The project forms part of the provincial government’s Proyektong Angat Para sa Lahat, which focuses on bringing essential infrastructure and development initiatives closer to communities across South Cotabato.

The initiative reflects the provincial government’s continuing efforts to provide safe, functional, and accessible facilities that complement the delivery of public services and respond to the needs of residents.

As the project enters its pre-final inspection stage, the facility is nearing completion and is expected to soon become an important community space for the residents of Barangay Danlag.
