KORONADAL CITY, July 11, 2025 — The National Food Authority – Region 12 (NFA-12) emerged as one of the biggest winners during the opening of the T’nalak Festival 2025, after securing the Champion titles in both the Float Competition and the Most Festive Contingent category.
Thousands of residents and visitors gathered along the streets of General Santos Drive in the City of Koronadal to witness the annual float parade. This signature event showcased the artistry, culture, and creativity of participating agencies and institutions. Emerging as the Champion of this year’s Float Competition was the National Food Authority – Region 12 (NFA-12), whose float won for its cultural representation and visual impact. Bureau of Fire Protection – Region 12 (BFP-12) placed first, while the South East Asian Institute of Technology (SEAIT) secured Second Place.
NFA-12 also bagged the Champion title in the Most Festive Contingent. Department of Education – Region 12 (DepEd-12) earned First Place while Agten Tufi Dance Ensemble placed Second.
Meanwhile, the T’nalak Broadway Beats dance competition captivated the audience with Broadway-inspired performances infused with local themes and traditional elements. After a competitive showcase, LGU Lake Sebu emerged as Champion, followed by the Dolefil Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (DARBC) as First Runner-up, and the City of Koronadal as Second Runner-up. The municipalities of Polomolok and Tupi received Consolation Prizes for their participation.
“We must express our gratitude to the indigenous T’boli and Blaan communities, as well as our Muslim brothers and sisters, for welcoming us with open arms and warm hearts. This is a symbol of unity,” South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. emphasized.
The T’nalak Festival will continue with a week-long lineup of activities celebrating the rich traditions and diverse communities of South Cotabato, coinciding with the province’s founding anniversary. (With reports from Ella Charafel Villanueva)
