South Cotabato — The Norala District Hospital has taken a major step in strengthening its emergency care capabilities after completing the latest Cognitive and Skills Evaluation on Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
The program was initiated by Norala District Hospital in partnership with the Philippine Heart Association (PHA)–Council on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in compliance with American Heart Assosciation Standards.
Facilitated by Dr. Jansen Mancera, the training adhered to the newest AHA guidelines and involved 2 physicians and 18 nurses from the hospital.
The intensive program focused on rapid recognition of cardiac emergencies, precise resuscitation techniques, and evidence-based interventions, equipping hospital personnel with the latest protocols to save lives during critical situations.
Training coordinators emphasized that this assessment is not just a skills upgrade, it directly impacts patient outcomes and the hospital’s capacity to respond to emergencies efficiently.
Mary Faith Divinagracia, LDRRMO III, noted, “Healthcare facilities that prioritize advanced resuscitation training see measurable improvements in survival rates and the confidence of their medical teams in high-pressure situations.”
Divinagracia said the hospital officials highlighted that the initiative strengthens both the workforce and the community’s safety.
“With better-trained staff, the hospital can respond faster, reduce preventable deaths, and provide more reliable care, especially during cardiac emergencies that often determine life or death,” she pointed out.
This effort is part of Norala District Hospital’s ongoing commitment to elevate healthcare standards, ensuring that medical teams are not only skilled but also empowered to make timely, informed decisions.
Ultimately, the program reinforces the hospital’s role as a criticSSal lifeline for the municipality, safeguarding the health and well-being of the entire community.
