The office of the Provincial Agriculturist announces the continuation of the implementation of its program on Hito and tilapia fingerlings dispersal at the Provincial Hito Hatchery located at the Provincial Scion, Grove, Nursery, Research, Production, and Demonstration Farm, Brgy. Reyes,Banga.
Provincial Agriculturist Raul Teves said the program is open to all marginalized farmers and fisherfolk in the province with existing ponds.

The OPAG reports that last year, they have distributed at least 75,000 tilapia fingerlings and 55,000 hito fingerlings to the beneficiaries.
The Provincial Hito Hatchery program was established in 2021 in cooperation with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the provincial government of South Cotabato through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
To those who want to avail of the program, they are advised to coordinate with Municipal Agriculture Offices in their respective municipalities or they can proceed directly to the OPAG to file their requests or Letter of Intent.
The OPAG will then set the schedule for the validation.
