LAKE SEBU, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato under Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., continues to expand its agricultural support network with the ongoing construction of a new OPAG Satellite Office in Sitio Biyawan, Ned, Lake Sebu.
The initiative is being implemented through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG), under the leadership of Dr. Raul D. Teves, and forms part of the administration’s continuing effort to improve service delivery to farmers, particularly those in geographically isolated areas.
“This satellite office will allow us to bring technical services, farm inputs coordination, and program implementation closer to our farmers. Instead of traveling to the main office, farmers in remote communities can now access government support within their area,” Teves said.
The construction of the facility began last January 1, 2026, and is scheduled for completion on March 31, 2026.
The project is funded with a total allocation of ₱2.5 million sourced from the 20 percent Local Development Fund (LDF) 2023.
Dr. Teves emphasized that the establishment of the satellite office is designed to decentralize agricultural services and reduce the burden on farmers who travel long distances to access assistance.
He shared that the facility will improve response time and strengthen monitoring of agricultural programs on the ground.
“Our goal is faster delivery of interventions and more direct engagement with farming communities. Accessibility is key to increasing productivity and ensuring that no farmer is left behind,” he explained.
Once operational, the OPAG Satellite Office is expected to streamline the distribution of assistance, enhance technical extension services, and support the overall development of the agricultural sector in Lake Sebu.
Provincial officials described the project as part of a broader strategy to promote inclusive growth and ensure equitable access to government agricultural programs across South Cotabato.
