OPAG South Cotabato FITS Center wins multiple honors at Regional Techno Gabay Excellence Awards

Koronadal City, South Cotabato | December 23, 2025 – The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG) South Cotabato Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center earned multiple distinctions during the 2nd Regional Techno Gabay Summit and Regional Techno Gabay Excellence Awards at Belo Hall, ATI RTC XII, Barangay San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato.

The Regional Techno Gabay Excellence Awards, organized in Region XII, recognize agencies, institutions, and FITS Centers that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and effective implementation of the Techno Gabay Program.

OPAG South Cotabato FITS Center was recognized with the following awards: Best in Social Media Presence, Best in Knowledge Products Dissemination, Best Techno Gabay Program Poster, and Best Techno Gabay Program Implementer (Provincial Category).


According to Ronald Pacol, Agriculturist II and FITS Manager, the recognition reflects the collective efforts of the OPAG team and its commitment to accessible and farmer-centered extension services.

 

These awards affirm our dedication to delivering timely, accurate, and practical agricultural information to our farmers and stakeholders. Through the effective use of ICT and social media, we are able to reach more communities and respond better to their needs,” Pacol said.

 

He added that the FITS Center will continue to innovate and strengthen its services.

 

We remain committed to enhancing our knowledge products and extension strategies to support sustainable agriculture and improve the livelihoods of farmers, fisherfolk, and agripreneurs across South Cotabato,” he noted.

 

Under the leadership of Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Raul D. Teves, OPAG South Cotabato continues to advance agricultural development through responsive extension services and strong partnerships with national agencies and local stakeholders.

 

The recognition underscores the important role of the OPAG South Cotabato FITS Center in promoting innovation, knowledge-sharing, and inclusive agricultural growth in the province.

“The program promotes the efficient dissemination of agricultural and fisheries knowledge through innovative extension approaches, the use of information and communication technology (ICT), social media, and quality knowledge products to support farmers, fisherfolk, and agripreneurs,” Pacol added.
