Koronadal City—Barangay council members in various towns in South Cotabato attended the Liga ng mga Barangay Day held at South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center to witness the awarding ceremony of the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Award and Dangal ng Barangay Award, which highlighted this years 16th Liga Day.
Ronaldo Malabuyoc, Provincial Federation President of the Association of Punong Barangays in South Cotabato, said the award is the desire for a “more empowered barangay council to serve the people at the grassroots level.”
“We have more works to accomplish. I am asking the barangay officials to encourage their constituents to unite because we can’t do it alone,” Malabuyoc said.
Barangay Poblacion of Tupi bagged the Most Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Award while Barangay Dajay of Suralah garnered the Most Outstanding Barangay in South Cotabato.
Barangay Poblacion, Tupi received a cash reward of P350, 000 worth of barangay project while Barangay Dajay took P400, 000 cash reward.

October is Barangay Assembly Month, DILG Provincial Director Rochelle Mahinay-Sero said.
On October 26, Barangay Dajay is the showcase barangay of South Cotabato after it was declared as the Most Outstanding Barangay this year.
“Review your Comprehensive Development Plan and see to it that it is aligned to the vision of your municipality and the province,” Sero reminded the barangay officials.
She also urged the barangay council to “go for excellence in barangay governance” and she asked them to lead the barangay.
” Let’s do what we oath to do,” Sero added.
