Over 60 students to benefit from ECCD classroom in Polomolok

South Cotabato – An estimate of over 60 pre-school students is expected to benefit from the recently constructed Early Childhood Care and Development Classroom in Barangay Polotana, Municipality of Polomolok, South Cotabato.

The ECCD Classroom building with comfort room amounting to PHP1,696,999.69 aims to benefit pre-school children and their education in the community and nearby barangays, providing a comfortable avenue for learning for students.

Provincial Engineer Lloyd M. Esparagosa stated that these classroom buildings were a product from the collaboration of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato and MELCO Resorts Foundation.

“We have been constructing multiple classroom buildings in the province, including ECCD centers… and this comes at no cost of the province, this is from the PHP100M grant from MELCO Resorts foundation.” – Engineer Esparagosa said.

Furthermore, with the Province’s commitment in providing free and accessible education in the province, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. continues to reduce classroom shortages in the Province through the construction of these classroom buildings in schools and isolated barangays in the province.

ECCD Centers are part of South Cotabato’s broader education and human development agenda, which also includes scholarship programs, classroom rehabilitation, and teacher support initiatives.

In 2022, the province was honored as one of the awardees for the inaugural Gawad Edukampyon for ECCD under the national Gawad Edukampyon for Local Governance, recognizing it as a champion in early childhood care and development for its innovative programs and compliance with national ECCD standards.
