SOUTH COTABATO — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, through the Office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (OPDRRMO), extended immediate relief assistance to families affected by flash floods in Barangay Basag, Tboli.
A total of 10 families were identified as the initial beneficiaries of the relief operation.
These households were among those whose homes and personal belongings were partially damaged by the sudden flooding.
Relief operations were mobilized from the OPDRRRMO Command Center, delivering an initial batch of more than 10 food packs and 10 hygiene kits to the affected families.
PDRRMO Chief Rolly Doane C. Aquino emphasized that swift intervention remains a priority for the provincial government, ensuring that communities receive timely support during emergencies.
Aquino added that the OPDRRMO continues to work closely with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Tboli to monitor the situation and support ongoing recovery efforts.
The provincial government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, highlighting that coordinated action plays a crucial role in helping vulnerable communities recover faster from natural hazards.
