PEO reports P199-M completed infra projects in 9 months

Sixty-four (64) infrastructure projects with a total project cost of P 198,929,507.24 were completed for the period January to September, the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) reported.

But PEO added in their report that the list of completed projects, which are either vertical or horizontal structures, were finished with an actual cost of P143,447,053.60 only.

The completed projects consisted of roads, barangay and agricultural development projects, education-related projects, improvement to provincial government and national line agencies facilities and labor expense for other appurtenant structures.

Road projects built were in the form of concreting, completion and upgrading of roads particularly the arterial road from Banga to Norala, National Highway – Acmonan farm-to-market road (FMR), Cannery Road, Lambingi – Lampari FMR, road from Poblacion going to Slaughterhouse and Junction Lapu-lapu – Avance Streets in Sto. Nino, and San Jose – Columbio Provincial Road.

Likewise, projects implemented in the barangays were completion of barangay halls, construction/completion of Senior Citizen buildings, construction of day care centers, construction of gyms (regular, 1-span, 2-span or curve), construction of stage, construction of covered courts, construction of playground system, construction of drainage canal and repair of water system.

Agricultural development projects implemented which directly benefitted the farmers were construction/completion of lined canals, installation of slope protection, construction of multi-purpose drying pavements, rehabilitation/improvement of box culverts and construction of multi-purpose building (for Norala Irrigators Association).

Projects implemented as a support to the education sector were the construction of either 2-classroom or 1-classroom buildings (including installation of tiles in some school buildings) to help the education department addressed the lack of school buildings and other education-related facilities.

Infrastructure support in the form of labor expense were also implemented in the construction of 2 communal septic tank, additional buildings for PAcco, drilling of water system and repair/renovation of stations 1 and 2 of Norala District Hospital.

To serve well the general public, the provincial government also initiated the improvement of its facilities in the form of construction, improvement and rehabilitation of a number of provincial government faculties such as completion of new Provincial Population Office, Construction of 2-storey building for Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, provincial Accounting Office (PAcco) and Provincial General Services Office and offices for PEO and the improvement/upgrading of the Polomolok Municipal Hospital, and likewise supported the construction of archival facilities of the Hall of Justice located in Koronadal City.
