PESO-South Cotabato bags top awards for skills development and employer engagement

South Cotabato, Philippines – The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato once again proved its excellence after bagging two major awards during the 2025 Regional PESO Congress held in General Santos City.

PESO- South Cotabato was recognized as Best in Training and Skills Development Facilitation for its commitment to bridging skills gaps by providing quality training and development opportunities that empower workers to meet industry demands.

On the other hand,  the public employment office in South Cotabato was awarded as the Most Outstanding Employer Engagement Initiative for its remarkable efforts in strengthening partnerships with employers through collaborative programs, job fairs, and consultations that expand employment opportunities for job seekers.

Flora Gallego-Montoya, PESO Head, said these awards highlight PESO South Cotabato’s continued dedication to creating meaningful programs that not only equip the workforce with the right skills but also link them with sustainable employment opportunities.

Gallego-Montoya said.

Earlier this year, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) South Cotabato also made headlines after gathering more than 1,000 job seekers during the Business Week Job Fair, where local and national employers offered hundreds of vacancies across various industries.

The event, held in collaboration with the South Cotabato Economic and Investment Promotion Center and private sector partners, underscored PESO’s commitment to connecting job seekers with employment opportunities while strengthening employer engagement in the province.
