KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – Tnalak Festival-goers availed themselves of convenient healthcare assistance as the PhilHealth Regional Office XII through Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) Koronadal set up a YAKAP service booth at the South Cotabato Gymnasium during the ongoing T’nalak Festival celebration.
The on-site booth allowed residents to process various PhilHealth concerns without having to visit the PhilHealth office, making essential healthcare services more accessible amid the festivities.
As of earlier today, 138 clients had already been accommodated by the PhilHealth team, reflecting the public’s strong response to the mobile service.
According to Hannah Naanep, PhilHealth Regional Information Officer, bringing PhilHealth services directly to the festival venue demonstrates the agency’s commitment to making healthcare more accessible to the public.
“The T’nalak Festival gathers thousands of people from different municipalities, making it an ideal opportunity for us to bring PhilHealth services closer to our members. Through the YAKAP booth, we can provide immediate assistance and ensure that our clients can conveniently process their PhilHealth concerns while enjoying the celebration,” Naanep said.
Leading the YAKAP operations is Jennifer Abris Lao, YAKAP Point Person of LHIO Koronadal, who emphasized that the initiative aims to provide easier access to healthcare services and empower members to choose accredited healthcare providers that best suit their needs.
“Our goal is to make PhilHealth services more accessible to every member. We guide clients through their transactions and help them understand their available options. Members have the freedom to choose the accredited hospital or clinic that is most convenient for them, allowing them to maximize their PhilHealth benefits,” Lao said.
Among those served was a client who processed the transfer of the PhilHealth records of her senior citizen parents to Dr. Sandig Clinic.
Lao explained that the clinic is both YAKAP-accredited and GAMOT-accredited, enabling qualified members to conveniently access healthcare services and outpatient medicines under PhilHealth’s benefit packages.
She added that members are encouraged to select the accredited healthcare facility that is most accessible and practical for their family’s healthcare needs.
The YAKAP booth forms part of PhilHealth’s continuing efforts to strengthen public access to health services by bringing frontline assistance directly to communities through major public events, ensuring that more Filipinos can conveniently update their membership records and avail themselves of their health insurance benefits.
