Php400-M hospital expansion at ProTech Center pushed

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr is pushing for the Php400 million expansion of the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital at the  Productivity and Technology  (ProTech)  Center which the national government will fund.
Governor Tamayo disclosed that part of the funds would come from the  Php200 million from the Department of Health which was earlier postponed.
The initially approved site was within the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital but based on its limited location, the construction inside the vacant space of the ProTech center is being sought to give way for the construction of a  four-story hospital building with additional features.
Based on the original plan, the expansion building will have nursing service facilities, operating rooms, X-ray rooms, private rooms and wards, and administrative offices. But due to the emergence of Covid, the plan to establish a molecular laboratory, and isolation wards are being pushed.

” I already communicated with the office of Senator JV Ejercito about this matter.”

Governor Tamayo said, the other Php 200 million will be sourced from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
With the   Php400 million hospital extension facility, it can provide more medical services to the people of South Cotabato.
The expansion will increase the bed capacity of the SCPH by 100 beds as a remedy to the hospital decongestion.
He added that the hospital extension facility would also offer training services and hopes to be upgraded to Level 3.
