South Cotabato, Philippines— The Provincial Government of South Cotabato received a PHP9.92M grant from the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) – Green Green Green Program under the Department of Budget and Management for the construction of sports facilities in the province.
The grant, amounting to PHP9,992,186.00, is allotted for the construction of additional sports facilities in the South Cotabato Sports Complex with an additional PHP2.1 Million peso counterpart from the Provincial Government of South Cotabato.
The Province of South Cotabato was among the selected beneficiaries of DBM’s Green Green Green program, which is designed to support beneficiary provinces, cities, and municipalities in promoting green open spaces and infrastructure projects for active mobility.
Additionally, the project aims to develop greener, more vibrant, and well-connected public open spaces, fostering an active lifestyle and enhancing the overall wellness of the community.
As of this writing, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato is in the works of developing the necessary paper works and certifications from the Department of Education – South Cotabato Division, and the City Government of Koronadal for the authorization of the construction of the said sports facilities.
Recently, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato allotted PHP50 Million pesos to rehabilitate the rubberized oval track in the South Cotabato Sports Complex.
