Population Advocacy integrates in South Cotabato’s 11th Friends Rescued Program

South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has strengthened its efforts toward inclusive and people-centered development by integrating population advocacy into the 11th Batch of the Friends Rescued Program, equipping participants with essential knowledge on responsible decision-making and family development.

The initiative supports the broader governance agenda of Gov. Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., which prioritizes accessible social services, community empowerment, and sustainable development across the province.

Melanie, Chiva, Provincial Population Officer, said participants underwent a series of discussions and orientations focusing on Responsible Parenthood, proper family planning, and the role of individuals in building stable and progressive communities.

“The activity is aimed at providing participants with practical knowledge that will guide them in making informed decisions for their personal lives and future families,” Chiva mentioned.

Beyond knowledge-sharing, the integration of population advocacy served as a key component in strengthening the overall rehabilitation and reintegration process of participants.

“By understanding the importance of planning and responsibility, participants are better prepared to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to their communities,” she said.

The Friends Rescued Program remains one of the province’s continuing interventions designed to support individuals in transition, offering guidance, values formation, and access to essential services.

“The inclusion of population advocacy further enhances the program’s holistic approach by addressing both social and developmental aspects of personal growth,” the provincial population officer explained.

Through the continued collaboration of various government agencies, South Cotabato reaffirms its commitment to delivering responsive programs that promote peace, development, and improved quality of life for all its citizens.
