Provincial government brings free rabies vaccination closer to Tboli residents

South Cotabato, Philippines The Provincial Government of South Cotabato continues its vaccination program with a focused rabies vaccination campaign across several barangays in the Municipality of Tboli this February, as part of its intensified efforts to eliminate rabies and promote responsible pet ownership.

According to Errol B. Javier, Veterinarian IV of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, the activity is complemented by a Rabies Eradication Forum aimed at educating residents on the importance of vaccinating their pets and practicing responsible pet care.

“It is important to explain to the public the importance of responsible pet ownership and why vaccination is necessary,” Javier said.

He added that the February schedule is focused on the municipality of Tboli, where the team is conducting mass vaccination activities across different barangays.

“Our approach is to conduct mass vaccination. We have scheduled different barangays in the municipality so that we can cater to all pet owners,” he said.

Residents are encouraged to coordinate with their barangay officials or visit their Municipal Agriculturist’s Office to inquire about the exact vaccination schedules.

He also reminded pet owners of their responsibility to keep their animals vaccinated to protect both their families and the community.

“Please, we need to be responsible because this is our obligation to our dogs and cats,” he emphasized.
