South Cotabato, Philippines — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato formally conducted the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing and Orientation for the Government Internship Program (GIP), welcoming 28 qualified beneficiaries under the program.
The GIP is solely funded by the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, reaffirming its commitment to providing employment opportunities and meaningful work experience to young professionals. The beneficiaries are composed of Kabugwason Scholars and SPES graduates of the Provincial Government.
Under the program, interns will be engaged on a six-month contract and will be assigned to various provincial government departments, local government units (LGUs), public schools, and national government agencies, depending on their respective professions and skill sets. Their official duty is set to begin on February 2, 2026.
During the orientation, guidelines on workplace conduct, roles and responsibilities, and program expectations were discussed to ensure that beneficiaries are well-prepared as they enter public service.
Flora G. Montoya, PESU Officer, highlighted that the Government Internship Program serves as a vital bridge for young individuals entering the workforce.
“The South Cotabato Government Internship Program is a short-term employment opportunity designed for fresh graduates and unemployed individuals who have yet to gain work experience in both public and private establishments. Through this program, interns are given the chance to acquire professional learning experiences, gain exposure to the real-world work environment, and develop the necessary skills and competencies that will prepare them for future employment in either the public or private sector,” Montoya said.
Each intern will receive P460 per day.
The Provincial Government expressed optimism that the interns will gain valuable experience while contributing to the efficient delivery of public services across South Cotabato. The GIP continues to serve as one of the province’s key initiatives in youth development, employment generation, and good governance.
