South Cotabato, Philippines | October 15, 2025 – In a strong show of commitment to grassroots health services, the Office of the Integrated Provincial Health Officer (IPHO) of South Cotabato, in partnership with the Barangay Affairs Unit under the Office of the Provincial Governor, released the 1st and 2nd quarter honoraria for Provincial Health Navigators across the province.
Dennis C. Dignadice, Executive Assistant IV of the Barangay Affairs Unit, facilitated the distribution and ensured that these vital frontliners receive support.
The distribution began with over 249 health navigators from Norala last week, with Sto. Niño’s turn set today.
“These navigators are among the more than 7,314 Provincial Health Navigators deployed across the province.
These efforts align with the province’s proactive push for Universal Health Care (UHC) implementation, making South Cotabato one of the first provinces in the country to scale up such a program.
During the Monday press conference, Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. emphasized that the goal is that far-clung communities receive health care.
“Services should reach even the farthest places — no one should be left behind, “the governor said.
(Ang serbisyo dapat makaabot bisan sa pinakamalayo nga lugar wala sing mabilin).
After the list of navigators was cleaned, BAU said there are at least 10,000 active health navigators at present.
