SOUTH COTABATO, PHILIPPINES – In celebration of World Rabies Day, the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVET) of South Cotabato launched the “Breaking Rabies Boundaries” initiative, celebrating an important goal in the fight against rabies. The initiative intends to boost the province’s efforts in animal health, responsible pet ownership, and rabies prevention.
PVET provided free services to pet owners as part of the program, such as castration, deworming, and rabies vaccinations. A total of 74 animals were castrated, with 31 cats and 43 dogs benefiting from the treatment. 67 responsible pet owners attended the event, determined to safeguard their animals’ health and safety.
The “Breaking Rabies Boundaries” program reduces the dangers linked to unvaccinated and unneutered pets by promoting the control of stray animals in addition to aiding in the prevention of the rabies virus.
PVET remains committed to preventing rabies from harming the community and its animals by providing free rabies vaccinations and dewormings. In order to contribute to keeping South Cotabato rabies-free, the office encourages all pet owners to take advantage of these services.
Through taking steps like these, the Provincial Veterinary Office continues to demonstrate its commitment to rabies eradication, animal welfare, and public health.
