A total of 123 projects amounting to to P 473,824,394.42 were accomplished province-wide for 2015, the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) reported during the first Kapehan sa Kapitolyo sponsored by the Provincial Information Office recently.
Assistant Provincial Generosa Capundan and Engr. Vicente Ayongao, chief of PEO’s Construction and Maintenance Division, who were Resource Speakers during the media forum disclosed that 79 of these projects were already completed while 44 projects are still on-going.
Engr. Ayongao further disclosed that 65 projects out of the total 123 projects or 52.84% are vertical structures that constitute construction or repair of multi-purpose buildings, health facilities, school buildings and government offices.
The remaining projects, Ayongao added, are concreting or rehabilitation of 23 roads (18.70%) and 35 other appurtenant projects (28.46%) such as bridges, box culverts, drainage canals, water system, among others.
One of the on-going projects was suspended since May 27 and the remaining 43 projects have a total contract cost of P 309,542,355.04.
Ayongao pointed out that aside from their principal function as frontline in the implementation of infrastructure projects, they also served the needs of the barangays particularly the repair, rehabilitation and maintenance of barangay roads.
