KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Scholarship and Grant-in-Aid Committee (PSGIAC) is set to conduct its final deliberation following the completion of the background investigation of 227 applicants shortlisted under the Kabugwason–Paglaum Scholarship and Grant-in-Aid Program (KPSGIAP).
KPSGIAP Executive Director Atty. Rhonalyn C. Gallego emphasized the importance of the validation process in upholding the integrity of the scholarship program.
“The background investigation is an essential part of our selection process. It allows the committee to verify the qualifications of every shortlisted applicant and ensure that the scholarship is awarded fairly and transparently,” Gallego said.
The background investigation was conducted from July 20 to 31, 2026, as part of the committee’s final screening process to determine the official scholars for Academic Year 2026–2027.
The activity aimed to verify the information submitted by the applicants and ensure that scholarship assistance is granted to deserving and qualified beneficiaries.
Gallego disclosed that the PSGIAC is scheduled to convene for its final deliberation on August 13, 2026, during which the committee will determine the official list of scholars for Academic Year 2026–2027.
She also clarified that there is no confirmed schedule yet for the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the new scholars, as the committee must first complete its deliberation before announcing the next phase of the program.
“We ask all shortlisted applicants to remain patient while the committee completes the evaluation process. The schedule for the MOA signing will be announced once the deliberation has been concluded and the official list of scholars has been approved,” she added.
The Provincial Government of South Cotabato encouraged all shortlisted applicants to cooperate with the background investigation team and await official announcements through the province’s authorized communication channels regarding the final results and succeeding activities of the KPSGIAP.
