‘Race to Eleven Season 5’ kicks off across South Cotabato on November 11 showcases adventure and heritage

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato,  Philippines -November 5,2025-  South Cotabato is once again set to highlight its strong spirit of culture, adventure, and nature as the Race to Eleven Season 5 officially takes off on November 11, 2025, carrying the theme “Chasing Challenges: Where Adventure Meets Heritage.”

Now on its fifth season, the province-wide competition aims to promote tourism, cultural appreciation, and environmental awareness by combining physical endurance with heritage-based challenges across South Cotabato’s 11 municipalities and lone city.

According to Tourism Officer Francisco M. Cerbo Jr., the Race to Eleven serves as a dynamic way to rediscover and promote the province’s identity through travel and teamwork.

“Race to Eleven continues to be a platform that unites our people through shared experiences that highlight the beauty, diversity, and resilience of South Cotabato. Every challenge represents a story, one that speaks of our heritage and the strength of our communities,” Cerbo said.

The annual event, organized by the Provincial Government of South Cotabato , through the Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Museum (ACTM) Unit, draws participants from various sectors including tourism officers, local adventurers, and community representatives.

Each challenge showcases the unique culture, traditions, and natural attractions of the participating localities.

Cerbo added that beyond competition, the event aims to foster collaboration among municipalities and inspire a sense of pride among South Cotabateños by encouraging them to experience their province firsthand.

The race will cover routes from Koronadal City to Lake Sebu, with each stop offering activities inspired by the town’s culture, history, or tourism landmarks.

Participants are expected to complete a series of physical and cultural challenges before reaching the finish line at Punta Isla, Lake Sebu, where the awarding ceremony will also take place.

Since its inception, Race to Eleven has evolved into one of South Cotabato’s flagship tourism events, contributing to the promotion of local destinations while strengthening partnerships between local government units and communities.S

As Cerbo emphasized, the Race to Eleven is not merely about endurance, but about celebrating identity,  reminding every participant that the true victory lies in rediscovering South Cotabato’s heritage, one challenge and one destination at a time.
