Rehabilitation of the South Cotabato Sports Complex Target to be completed before 2025 SRAA Meet

SOUTH COTABATO, PHILIPPINES – South Cotabato Provincial Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. assured that the ongoing rehabilitation of the rubberized oval track of the South Cotabato Sports Complex is targeted to be completed before the commencement of the 2025 SOCSKARGEN Regional Athletic Association Meet in the next months.

The governor, during the Governor Meets the Press stated that the rehabilitation of the rubberized oval track is long overdue ang must be finished before the SRAA Meet 2025.

Governor Tamayo Jr. also emphasized that the start of the rehabilitation was slightly delayed because the materials from the contractor did not meet the standards and quality set by the Province.

The City of Koronadal, the capital of South Cotabato, is set to host this year’s 2025 SRAA Meet wherein student athletes around region 12 convene for this week-long Sports event.

In addition, athletes and constituents of the province were elated for the long-overdue rehabilitation of the said sports complex.

Maayo kay para nami na ang amon magamit na mga facilities sa SMRAA, kay kada hapon damo gid nga mga tao ang naga-gamit sina dira, dako gid ang bulig sa amon especially sa physical activities” – Kristine Barrientos, an active athlete said in an interview

The provincial government of South Cotabato allotted over PHP49,996,000.00 for the rehabilitation of the rubberized track of the South Cotabato Sports Complex.
