South Cotabato, Philippines — In a continued effort to support communities affected by local vulnerabilities, a total of 52 families will receive immediate relief assistance through the distribution of food packs and hygiene kits in two barangays.
In Brgy. Takunel, particularly in Sitio Proper/Amfan, 46 families will benefit from the assistance, while in Brgy. Lamlahak, 6 families will likewise reach. Each household will receive one set of food packs and hygiene kits intended to support their basic daily needs and ensure proper sanitation and health practices.
The distribution will be jointly conducted by the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (OPSWDO), in coordination with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (OPDRRMO), as part of the government’s rapid response and social protection initiatives.
Ma’am Sonia Bautista, RSW, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, emphasized the importance of timely intervention for affected families.
“We always make it a priority to respond immediately to the needs of our communities, especially those who may be experiencing difficulties. These food packs and hygiene kits are small interventions, but they represent our commitment to ensure that no family is left behind,” Bautista said.
She also highlighted the continued collaboration between provincial offices in reaching far-flung and vulnerable areas.
“Through the strong coordination with our disaster risk reduction partners, we can deliver services more efficiently and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it the most,” she added.
The OPSWDO and OPDRRMO reiterated their commitment to sustained outreach and responsive service delivery, especially during times of need, as part of the province’s broader social welfare and resilience programs.
