KORONADAL CITY — A resolution seeking the approval of revised wage rates for Job Order (JO) and Contract of Service (COS) personnel of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, including the creation of new COS positions, is expected to be approved on June 1 and implemented effective July 1, 2026.
According to acting governor Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr., the salary adjustment for JO personnel has already been endorsed to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan through the recommendation of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., the Office of the Provincial Administrator, and the Office of the Provincial Human Resource Management Officer.
“I urged the Committee on Civil Service to expedite deliberations on the resolution, noting that many employees are eagerly awaiting its approval,” Pingoy said during the Monday Convocation Ceremony at the Provincial Capitol Covered Court.
Meanwhile, Committee on Civil Service Chairperson Annabelle Pingoy said that deliberations with members of the committee are already underway.
“Good as approved naman ini. Gina expectaran ta nalang nga sa June 1 ang atong nga final reading kag ini madasun nga approbahan.” BM Pingoy said.
With this announcement, it brought optimism among JO and COS employees.
According to Jonilie Seromines, research assistant, the proposed increase would greatly help with daily expenses, especially amid the continuing rise in the prices of basic commodities.
At present, there are 1,955 JOs and 129 COS in the Provincial Capitol.
