KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — RST member Zehada Dijam of Barangay General Paulino Santos (GPS), City of Koronadal, was among the residents who attended the 3rd Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat held Monday, September 14, at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center here.
For Dijam, the activity provided an opportunity for residents to access different government services in one venue, making it easier and more convenient for them to seek assistance.
“Malaking tulong po talaga ito sa amin kasi nandito na sa isang lugar ang iba’t ibang ahensya. Hindi na po kami mahihirapang pumunta sa iba’t ibang opisina para lang magtanong o humingi ng tulong,” Dijam said.
Dijam, who availed of the free medical check-up, joined fellow residents from different municipalities who came to the activity to receive themselves of various government services and assistance provided by 13 participating government agencies.
The participating agencies included the South Cotabato Provincial Police Office, Department of Health (DOH), PhilHealth, Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Agriculture (DA), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
She said the presence of various agencies also allowed residents to become more aware of the programs and services available to them.
“Dito po, nalalaman namin kung ano ang mga serbisyo na pwede naming makuha at kung saan kami dapat lumapit. Mas madali po kapag may mga ahensya na mismo na lumalapit sa mga tao,” she added.
The activity brought together national government agencies and local partners to ensure that essential programs and services are accessible to the public.
Among the services made available during the event were those related to health, legal assistance, employment and livelihood, agriculture, agrarian reform, documentation, and other concerns of residents.
As an RST member, Dijam also recognized the importance of bringing government services closer to communities, particularly for residents who may have difficulty traveling to different government offices.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa lahat ng ahensya at mga katuwang na nagpunta rito para magbigay ng serbisyo. Sana po ay ipagpatuloy ang ganitong programa para mas marami pang kababayan ang makinabang,” she stressed.
The 3rd Handog ng Pangulo highlighted the government’s continuing efforts to bring services directly to communities and ensure that assistance reaches the people who need it most.
