Sangguniang Panlalawigan of South Cotabato approves 11 key development partnerships in March

KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved 11 ordinances this March, authorizing Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. to enter into multiple Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with national agencies and private partners to accelerate the province’s development agenda.

Vice Governor Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr. highlighted the importance of “critical collaboration” between the executive and legislative branches, noting that the SP remains open and supportive of the Governor’s priorities to ensure the delivery of “Tama kag Maayo nga Serbisyo.”

In his statement, Vice Governor Pingoy clarified that while the board supports the administration, they continue to provide constructive engagement to further strengthen government programs.

“Ang Sangguniang Panlalawigan ari gid sa pagsuporta sang iya mga programa. Pero when we say critical collaboration, may ara man kita gina-suggest para makabulig pa gid sa iya,” Pingoy explained, emphasizing that their goal is to refine the delivery of services for the people.

The approved agreements cover a wide range of essential sectors, including a partnership with Cerebrons Laboratory for the Crisis Intervention Program and a reinforced collaboration with DSWD-12 for the Supplementary Feeding and 4Ps programs.

To promote participatory governance, the SP also authorized a pact with the Mahintana Foundation and the Association of Foundations for the continued rollout of the CSO Academy, alongside an education-focused project with PAGCOR and DepEd for new school buildings.

Economic and sustainability initiatives were also prioritized through a ₱3-million financial assistance agreement with the South Cotabato Credit Surety Fund Cooperative to boost local enterprises, and a “Solar Solutions for Government” program with the Department of Energy.

Furthermore, the province advanced its planning capabilities throughs data-sharing agreements with the PSA and the Commission on Population and Development, while strengthening regional ties with the Office of the Chief Minister of BARMM.

These March-approved ordinances underscore South Cotabato’s commitment to inclusive growth through multi-sectoral partnerships, ensuring that public services remain responsive and sustainable for all.
