SCPH blood bank honored for life-saving service at Gabi ng Parangal 2026

KORONADAL CITY — The South Cotabato Provincial Hospital (SCPH), through its Blood Bank Department, received a Plaque of Recognition from the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office (SCPPO) during the Gabi ng Parangal 2026, in acknowledgment of its sustained commitment to public health, emergency preparedness, and community safety.

The recognition highlights SCPH’s vital role in Project Lifeline under the PD PSALM Program, an inter-agency initiative aimed at ensuring the availability of safe, sufficient, and readily accessible blood supply, especially during emergencies, disasters, and critical incidents.

According to Emy Santillan, Donor Recruitment Officer of SCPH, the recognition reflects the hospital’s responsibility to ensure that blood services are not only available but also safe and reliable.

“The Blood Bank Department strictly adheres to established protocols in donor screening, blood collection, and storage to protect both donors and recipients while responding promptly to emergency needs,” she emphasized.

Through this program, SCPH’s Mobile Bloodletting Team has actively supported blood donation drives and emergency response operations, helping bridge gaps in blood availability when demand is high.

The award also underscores the importance of collaboration between healthcare institutions and law enforcement agencies in life-saving initiatives.

By working closely with the SCPPO and other partner agencies, SCPH strengthens coordinated responses that directly impact patient survival and community resilience.

The Plaque of Recognition was formally awarded on January 22, 2026, during the Gabi ng Parangal ceremony held at Habi Hotel, Koronadal City, marking another milestone in SCPH’s continuing efforts to uphold quality healthcare service and public trust across South Cotabato.

The recognition further highlights this initiative as a flagship program of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., placing health and public safety at the forefront of provincial priorities.
