KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – South Cotabato Provincial Hospital (SCPH) received a 5-star green rating in quality healthcare and environmentally friendly operations after passing the Department of Health–SOCCSKSARGEN’s evaluation of its hospital services and green initiatives.
Chief Nurse Designate Catherine E. Ligo credited the nursing workforce and hospital personnel for their unwavering commitment to quality care.
“This milestone is the result of our collective effort to uphold patient safety, maintain quality standards, and embrace sustainable healthcare practices. We will continue working together to raise the level of service for every South Cotabateño,” Ligo said.
The Department of Health–Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN’s Integrated Hospital Operations and Management Program (IHOMP) and Green Viability Assessment (GVA) is regular inspection on hospital operations and environmental sustainability.
SCPH achieved an impressive 96.50 percent IHOMP score, earning a Very Satisfactory rating. The hospital also recorded a 96.39 percent Green Viability Assessment score, equivalent to a 5-Star Green Rating, a significant improvement from its 80.70 percent (3 Green Stars) rating in 2025.
Administrative Officer IV Arvin Ian Robles emphasized the hospital’s commitment to sustainable operations.
“Earning a 5-Star Green Rating inspires us to further strengthen our environmental initiatives while ensuring efficient and patient-centered healthcare services for the people of South Cotabato,” Robles stressed.
The recognition highlights SCPH’s continuing pursuit of excellence, reinforcing its mission to provide safe, efficient, and sustainable healthcare services while promoting a healthier environment for the community.
The evaluation, conducted by the DOH-CHD XII team composed of Dr. Vina Pacinabao, Ms. Celaina Nicole Estorninos, and Ms. Maria Edith S. Tabio, assessed the hospital’s compliance with national standards on hospital operations, patient safety, and environmental management.
The evaluation was held at the Chief Nurse’s Office Conference Room and attended by Chief of Hospital II Dr. Marilyn S. Abantao, Administrative Officer IV Arvin Ian Robles, Chief Nurse Designate Catherine E. Ligo, Pollution Control Officer and Assistant Chief Nurse Joe Anne L. Vale, nursing supervisors, cost center managers, and nursing office staff.
