South Cotabato, Philippines- South Cotabato Provincial Hospital (SCPH), together with the National League of Philippine Government Nurses, Inc. (NLPGNI) – South Cotabato Chapter, has officially closed out its “Bangon Glan” donation drive, capping off weeks of fundraising with a full delivery of relief goods to earthquake-affected families in Barangay Taluya, Glan, Sarangani.
The two organizations confirmed that the joint relief mission successfully delivered 200 food packs, 60 five-gallon containers and 134 smaller gallon containers of potable water, 200 basic hygiene kits, vitamins, antibiotics and over-the-counter medicines for adults, children and infants, powdered milk for infants, and decent used clothing for both adults and children.
The donation drive was launched in the aftermath of the powerful earthquake that struck South Cotabato and neighboring Sarangani province earlier this month, leaving several communities, including Brgy. Taluya, in urgent need of food, water, and medical supplies.
“Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we officially conclude the Bangon Glan Donation Drive,” SCPH and NLPGNI said in their joint statement, extending thanks to all donors, volunteers, partners, and supporters whose generosity made the relief effort possible.
Organizers also announced that the drive’s remaining cash donations will not go unused, the funds will instead be channeled to support another community in need within South Cotabato, with updates to follow on the SCPH Official Facebook Page.
The drive adds to SCPH’s growing list of community outreach efforts in the weeks following the earthquake, during which the provincial hospital itself treated dozens of patients for quake-related injuries and shock.
