KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — In line with its continuing commitment to quality healthcare and patient safety, the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital (SCPH) conducted Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for selected nurses and healthcare personnel to strengthen their emergency response capabilities in handling life-threatening medical situations.
The activity focused on enhancing the participants’ knowledge and hands-on skills in responding to cardiac arrest, respiratory emergencies, and other critical incidents that require immediate medical intervention.
“We make sure that everyone who seeks help is attended to with respect and quality care. Our team works tirelessly , from doctors and nurses to our staff in every department , because we know that every life we touch matters,” Dr. Marilyn S. Abantao said.
Hospital officials underscored that the initiative forms part of SCPH’s broader efforts to maintain high standards of patient care and ensure that medical frontliners remain prepared to respond effectively during critical and emergency situations.
“The training also emphasized the importance of teamwork, preparedness, and proper coordination among healthcare workers during emergencies where every second is crucial in saving lives,” Abantao said.
Among those directed to attend the training were Sofia S. Constantino, Princess Grace N. Tediong, Arlane Mae M. Juan, Marie Joy Delcano, Arlinda Simpal-Tunan, Matthew Matute, Vince Garcia, Angeline Gonzales, Jastmine Arrieta, Kathrina Nicole Bernardo, Keian Keiff Mondejar, Jayson Jalbuna, Darlene Fresco, Glonell Angel Castre, Rafael Angelo Abu, Randy Aminola, Chris Adrian T. Tabale, Jenny Rose Q. Antimano, and Ayanna May P. Cumbe.
Based on Memorandum No. 87, Series of 2026, issued by Chief of Hospital II Dr. Marilyn S. Abantao, the participants were instructed to attend the two-day training conducted on May 21 to 22, 2026 at the Chief Nurse Conference Room.
The BLS training is expected to further improve the confidence and readiness of hospital personnel in delivering timely interventions.
