CITY OF KORONADAL — The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Office has recently released the results of the initial evaluation of the 2017 Search for Cleanest and Greenest LGU that was conducted unannounced last February 28 to March 17, this year.
Based on the consolidation of the results conducted by the team of evaluators last March 30 – 31 at Evelandia Lake View Resort at Takunel, Lake Sebu showed Surallah garnering the first place slot among the 11 participating LGUs.
Surallah was followed by last year’s first place winner Polomolok as second place. Tupi landed third place closely followed by Tampakan in fourth place, while Sto. Nino improved its standing to fifth place and T’boli got the sixth place slot.
They were followed by Lake Sebu, Norala, Koronadal City, Banga, Tantangan, ranked from seventh to eleventh place in that order.
Meanwhile, winners of the Special Awards were as follows: Best Barangay – (1st) Surallah, (2nd) Polomolok, (3rd) Tupi; Best Community Garden – Surallah; Best Backyard Garden – Surallah; Best Municipal Nursery – Surallah; Best Central Material Recovery Facility – Polomolok; Best Public Market – Polomolok; Best Plaza and Park – Polomolok; Best Roadside Beautification – Surallah; Best Public Terminal – Surallah; Best Public Toilet – Polomolok.
The unannounced initial evaluation has an equivalent of 40 percentage points while the unannounced final evaluation has 60 percentage points.
Final evaluation will be conducted on the last week of May until the middle week of June with the announcement of winners scheduled during the opening of the 2017 T’nalak Festival in July.
Evaluators are representatives from DILG, Provincial Environment Management Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, Provincial Information Office, Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum Promotions Unit, South Cotabato Foundation Inc. and Dole Phils.
