Search for Cleanest and Greenest LGU Update – Cluster II LGUs evaluated based on plans, programs

After evaluating and consolidating the results of the announced initial evaluation of Cluster I LGUs in the Search for Cleanest and Greenest LGU, evaluators also concluded their evaluation and consolidation of results for Cluster II LGUs last March 17.

Cluster I LGUs are Surallah, T’boli, Polomolok, City of Koronadal, Tupi and Tampakan while Cluster II LGUs are Banga, Lake Sebu, Norala, Sto. Nino and Tantangan.

Unlike “on-the-spot” evaluation of the different areas in Cluster I LGUs listed in the criteria, Cluster II LGUs were evaluated based on their environmental plans with relevance to the search that they formulated during the Planning and Budgeting Workshop conducted by the Provincial Environment Management Office last February.

The evaluation criteria are Prioritization of Plans, Programs and Activities – 15%, People’s Participation – 15%, Innovative Programs – 10%, Plan Presentation – 5% and Attendance to Planning and Budgeting Workshop – 5%.

Only areas in the respective municipality such as Barangay, Community Garden and Backyard Garden that comprised 25% were evaluated physically by the evaluators.

Other areas evaluated under Cluster I LGUs are Public Market, Public Terminal, Public Plaza and Parks, Municipal Nursery, Roadside Beautification, Central Material Recovery Facility, Support System and Other Facilities and Establishments.

The announced initial and unannounced final evaluations have 30 and 70 percentage points, respectively.

Evaluators were representatives of PEMO, PPDO, IPHO, PIO, ACTS, SCFI and Dole Phils.
