South Cotabato, Philippines – Six scholars under the Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship and Grant-In-Aid Program (KPSGIAP) have passed the recent Physicians Licensure Examination, marking another milestone for the Provincial Government of South Cotabato’s continuing investment in accessible and quality education.
The newly licensed physicians were among the beneficiaries of KPSGIAP’s Postgraduate Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to deserving students pursuing advanced degrees such as Doctor of Medicine, Juris Doctor, and other postgraduate courses.
According to Atty. Rhonalyn C. Gallego, OIC–Executive Director of KPSGIAP, this achievement is a testament to the program’s mission of transforming the lives of scholars through education and empowering them to give back to their communities.
“These new physicians are living proof that education truly changes lives,” Atty. Gallego said.
She said the support of the Provincial Government under Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., we are helping our scholars fulfill their dreams while ensuring that the people of South Cotabato will one day benefit from their service.
The Postgraduate Scholarship Program of KPSGIAP covers up to ₱45,000 per semester for medical students, alongside other forms of support for scholars. It aims to uplift local professionals and encourage them to contribute to the province’s growing sectors in health, education, and public service.
Atty. Gallego added that the success of these scholars serves as an inspiration for other students in South Cotabato to persevere in their studies and take advantage of the educational opportunities provided by the provincial government.
“KPSGIAP will continue to open doors for our youth, because every graduate is a victory not only for their family, but for the entire province,” she said.
Through programs like KPSGIAP, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a new generation of professionals—equipped with knowledge, compassion, and dedication to serve the people.
