SoCot delivers assistance to Surigao del Sur

KORONADAL, SOUTH COTABATO- The Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) personally delivered cash and in-kind assistance to the typhoon affected areas in Surigao del Sur particularly in the City of Tandag.

Through the collaborative efforts of the people of South Cotabato, the initiative of individual partners, and the help of private sectors, and business sectors, the provincial government was able to gather tons of goods despite the short notice.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. immediately mandated his staff to prepare food packs and other non-food items as additional assistance to the victims.

Meanwhile, the team successfully handed over the donations to the City of Tandag:

Food packs-500 pcs

Assorted clothes-210 sacks

Plates- 100 dozen

Beddings- 4 sacks

Sardines- 10 cases

Noodles- 11 cases

Tandag City Mayor Roxanne C. Pimentel personally received the donations from the team who traveled by land from South Cotabato.

“On behalf of the City Government of Tandag, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generosity, for your time, for your effort in coming here. Maraming maraming salamat po! Nakakagaan po ng loob namin sa kabila ng trials at difficulties lalo na ngayong may pandemic pa. As what I’ve said nakakagaan ng loob kasi you’re here for us, helping us, hindi kami nag-iisa. To the Provincial Government of South Cotabato please extend our heartfelt thanks to the generous Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr.” City Mayor Pimentel said.

The LGU Tandag also gave the plaque of recognition and token of appreciation to the Provincial Government of South Cotabato led by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. for the generous donation given to them.

To recall, the mentioned city have been devastated by the recent typhoon Auring which caused massive floods, dismantling of houses, damaged properties, and loss of livelihood.
