South Cotabato, Philippines — The Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (OPSWDO), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), successfully continued the Week 3–4 implementation of the Supplemental Feeding Program (SFP) across the province on July 14, 2026.
According to Sonia Bautista, RSW, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, the success of the program reflects the collective efforts of all stakeholders dedicated to promoting child welfare and nutrition.
“Every box of food and every nutritious ingredient delivered to our Child Development Centers represents our commitment to investing in the future of our children. Through the Supplemental Feeding Program, we are helping ensure that children receive the nourishment they need to grow healthy, develop their full potential, and succeed in their early learning journey,” Bautista said.
As nutritious food packs, vegetables, fruits, and other essential ingredients were distributed to Child Development Centers, the initiative reinforced the province’s commitment to improving the nutritional well-being of young children and supporting their healthy growth and development.
The Supplemental Feeding Program remains a key intervention in addressing malnutrition among children by ensuring access to nutritious meals during their formative years. Through sustained collaboration among government agencies, local government units, Child Development Workers, and community partners, the program continues to provide meaningful support to child beneficiaries throughout South Cotabato.
Meanwhile, Lovelyn Oliveros, NCDC Daycare Worker, emphasized the positive impact of the program on the children and their families.
“This initiative is more than just delivering food—it is about ensuring that every child has access to nutritious meals that help them learn, grow, and thrive. We are grateful for the continued support of our partners and local government units whose dedication makes this program possible and meaningful for the children we serve,” Oliveros shared.
The continued implementation of the Supplemental Feeding Program demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, DSWD, and community stakeholders to combating malnutrition and promoting the health and well-being of every young South Cotabateño.
As the program progresses, partners remain united in their goal of building healthier communities and creating brighter opportunities for children through proper nutrition and early childhood development support.
