KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of South Cotabato has approved Resolution No. 2020-520, enacting Appropriation Ordinance No. 2025-03, which authorizes the Calendar Year 2025 General Fund Supplemental Budget No. 3 amounting to ₱77,255,000.00.
According to the resolution, the amount will be sourced from actual collections in excess of estimated income and savings. The fund will be allocated for the implementation of CATCH-UP priority projects, operation and maintenance of the Provincial Banana Tissue Culture Laboratory, assistance to public education, provincial development assistance and support programs, and the Kabugwason-Paglaum Scholarship and Grant-in-Aid Program, among others.
The approval came after careful deliberation of the Governor’s proposed supplemental budget, which was deemed necessary to sustain the province’s ongoing development programs and services.
Provincial officials emphasized that the supplemental budget reflects the government’s strong commitment to inclusive growth and efficient public service delivery.
Board Member Nilda B. Almencion, Chairperson of the Committee on Appropriations, expressed her support for the measure, noting that the approval of the ordinance ensures the continued implementation of projects that directly benefit communities across the province.
“This supplemental budget reflects our commitment to sustaining programs that uplift our people’s welfare and strengthen local development initiatives,” Almencion said.
The supplemental budget is expected to stimulate local economic growth, enhance agricultural productivity, expand access to quality education, and provide more opportunities for youth and marginalized sectors.
Through this approved ordinance, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato reaffirms its dedication to inclusive and sustainable development, ensuring that every peso of public funds contributes to the welfare and progress of its people.
