GENERAL SANTOS CITY -The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has assured that all athletes representing the province in the Batang Pinoy 2025 national competition are safe, comfortable, and well-supported throughout the duration of the games.
Paul Rey Millan, Provincial Sports Coordinator, expressed his confidence in the South Cotabato delegation, saying that the athletes are well-prepared to compete at a high level.
“Our young athletes from South Cotabato are not left behind when it comes to talent and determination. They have undergone rigorous training and carry with them the pride of our province,” Millan said.
Millan emphasized that Governor Tamayo has given clear instructions to prioritize the welfare and comfort of all athletes throughout the competition.
According to him, the provincial government has gone the extra mile to ensure that every delegate from South Cotabato feels secure, well-fed, and properly accommodated during their stay in General Santos City.
“Governor Tamayo made sure that our athletes are given proper lodging and nutritious meals every day. We even sent personnel to supervise the preparation of their food so that they remain healthy, energized, and ready to perform at their best,” he stressed.
Governor Tamayo, known for his strong advocacy for youth development and sports programs, has long emphasized the importance of investing in young athletes as part of the province’s long-term goal to produce world-class sportsmen.
The Batang Pinoy 2025 officially opened in General Santos City last weekend, drawing hundreds of young athletes from different parts of Philippines. The event serves as a venue for young Filipino athletes to showcase their skills, sportsmanship, and passion for excellence in various sporting events.
This national sporting event features a wide range of sports, including athletics, swimming, taekwondo, boxing, basketball, and volleyball, among others. It aims to promote grassroots sports development and provide young athletes with opportunities to develop their talents and discipline at an early age.
The games will run until October 31, 2025, and the South Cotabato contingent is determined to make a strong showing until the final day of the tournament.
