SOUTH COTABATO, PHILIPPINES – The Local Government Unit of South Cotabato bagged the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance award for the year 2024.
The award for the Seal of Good Local Governance is an annual award given by the Department of Interior and Local Government to recognize local government units exemplifying transparency, integrity, and good governance in various sectors of public service.
South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. expressed his gratitude in the award received by the province, stating that the award reflects the good governance through the “Tama at Maayos” brand of service of the province.
“Sa pagdawat naton sang award, nagapabalo lang gid ina nga ang good governance diri sa South Cotabato nagapadayon… Gapadayon sang may ara sang good governance ang management naton sang services diri sa probinsya sang South Cotabato…” – Governor Tamayo Jr. expressed during the weekly Governor Meets the Press.
Gov. Tamayo Jr. also lauded the effort and collaboration of the different departments and divisions of the Provincial Government, stating that the award would not be possible without the harmonious collaboration between the various offices to deliver public service.
The Provincial Planning and Development Office Special Projects headed by the late Dennis Gasendo spearheaded the preparation for the province’s bid for the award. Recipients for this year’s SGLG award also include the City of Koronadal and the Municipalities of Polomolok, Tupi, and Tantangan.
Last 2023, it is worth noting that South Cotabato also bagged the Seal of Good Local Governance for the year 2023.
