KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – Public servants of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato are renewing their commitment to serve with integrity, compassion, and excellence through the Lingkod Bayani Commitment Wall, a highlight of the province’s Civil Service Month celebration.
More than a symbolic display, the commitment wall gives employees a space to put into words their personal promise to the people they serve—reflecting values such as integrity, professionalism, compassion, and dedication to quality service.
Provincial Human Resource Officer Freda Liza P. Gazo said the initiative reminds civil servants that meaningful public service is built not only through programs and accomplishments but also through the daily choices employees make in serving the public.
“Public service is built not only through policies, programs, and accomplishments, but through the daily choices we make to serve with puso, dangal, at galing,” Gazo said.
Information Officer II Krez James G. Cabaylo underscored the human side of government service, saying that commitment becomes meaningful when it is matched by genuine concern for every citizen.
“In public service, you should have a heart. It is not enough that we simply do our jobs. We must understand the people we serve, listen to their concerns, and respond with compassion and sincerity,” Cabaylo said.
He added that the commitments written on the wall should be translated into everyday actions—from accommodating clients with respect and patience to making government services more accessible and responsive.
The commitment wall will remain open throughout the month, allowing provincial government employees to write their own pledges and reaffirm their responsibility to the people of South Cotabato.
The activity reinforces the provincial government’s commitment to people-centered governance, emphasizing that public service is not only about delivering programs but ensuring that every citizen experiences government service with dignity, fairness, and compassion.
As the Civil Service Month celebration continues, the provincial government calls on its workforce to turn their written commitments into everyday practice—putting puso, dangal, at galing at the heart of public service.
