Koronadal City, South Cotabato | October 30, 2025 — Hundreds of cooperative members from ten municipalities and one city across South Cotabato gathered at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center to celebrate the 3rd Cooperative Summit.
n her inspirational message, Atty. Renette B. Bergado, Provincial Cooperatives and Development Officer, reflected on her experiences since assuming office, sharing how the cooperative movement broadened her perspective on public service.
“Maraming realization, maraming nabuksan sa aking kaisipan, at nagkaroon ng paradigm shift ang aking way of thinking,” she said.
“Nakita ko na hindi lang gobyerno ang may kakayahang tugunan ang mga problema sa lipunan. Kailangan natin ang tulong ng lahat ng sektor, lalo na ng ating mga kooperatiba, dahil aktibong katuwang sila ng pamahalaan sa nation building.”
Atty. Bergado also assured continued support from the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, emphasizing efforts to strengthen partnerships and programs for the cooperative sector. “We will look for other programs, projects, and activities na makakatulong po sa inyo,” she added.
“Gagawa kami ng proposals at magli-link kami sa lahat ng pwedeng mapuntahan upang mas mapalakas pa ang ating mga kooperatiba.”
The summit featured a vibrant lineup of activities, including a boodle fight competition, variety show, cultural presentations, booth display competition, and raffle draws, showcasing the creativity, teamwork, and community spirit of South Cotabateños. The 3rd Cooperative Summit reaffirmed South Cotabato’s commitment to fostering sustainable development through strong and empowered cooperatives — united under the spirit of cooperation and community building.
