South Cotabato Develops First Locally Built Real Property Tax System

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato is set to launch this March its first locally built Real Property Tax System, a significant innovation aimed at improving the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of real property tax administration in the province.

Developed internally by the Information Technology Division under the Office of the Provincial Information Officer (OPIO), the digital platform is designed to streamline tax billing, strengthen record management, and enable real-time monitoring of property tax data.

The system will support the Office of the Provincial Treasurer in delivering faster and more accurate services to taxpayers.

According to Provincial Treasurer Alvim M. Batol, CPA, the new system represents an important step toward modernizing government processes and improving the overall experience of taxpayers in South Cotabato.

“This is the first real property tax system developed by the province itself.  Through this platform, our real property tax billing administration will become more efficient, real-time, and accurate.”  Batol said.

He added that, once fully implemented, the platform is expected to reduce reliance on manual processes, minimize errors in tax records, and improve the generation of billing statements.

It will also enhance coordination between the Office of the Provincial Treasurer and Municipal Treasurers, strengthening the overall administration of real property taxes throughout the province. The system is targeted to launch within the month.” Batol said,

The system was developed by Rheimon Laquian, IT Programmer, through the province’s Information Technology Division, demonstrating the capability of the Provincial Government to develop digital solutions using its own technical expertise.

The initiative reflects the governance direction of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., whose administration continues to prioritize innovation, efficiency, and transparency in public service. Through modernization initiatives such as the new Real Property Tax System, the provincial government aims to deliver more responsive and reliable services to the people of South Cotabato.
