South Cotabato – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato concluded its Employees’ Day celebration with activities recognizing the talents, wellness achievements, and personal accomplishments of provincial government employees.
Provincial Human Resource Management Officer Fredaliza P. Gazo said Employees’ Day gives provincial government workers a chance to step away from their regular duties and join activities that promote wellness, talent development, and camaraderie.
“Employees’ Day gives the provincial government time to support its employees through activities that promote wellness, talent development, and camaraderie. It also reflects the provincial government’s commitment to the welfare and continuing development of its workforce,” Gazo said.
She also highlighted the Weight Management Program as one of the initiatives strengthened under Governor Tamayo’s leadership to help employees manage their weight and adopt healthier lifestyles.
“The Weight Management Program is one of the initiatives strengthened under Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. to help employees facing obesity achieve healthier lifestyles. During the Governor’s own medical attention, he emphasized the importance of extending support to employees who are also managing their weight,” Gazo said.
The culminating celebration featured the Battle of the Bands, the recognition of winners of the 2026 Weight Management Program, the Mutya at Ginoo ng PGSC, and the Inter Cluster Sports Awarding, which recognized employee groups’ achievements and participation during the celebration.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. attended the celebration with Vice Governor Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr., members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, department heads, and employees.
According to Gazo, Governor Tamayo directed the Human Resource Management Office to strengthen the program and provided additional funding for incentives to encourage more employees to participate and work toward their weight management goals.
Among those recognized during the celebration was Jessa Grace S. Montibon of Norala District Hospital, who lost 32.47 kilograms and secured first place in the Obese II Category of the 2026 Weight Management Program.
Montibon attributed her achievement to discipline, perseverance, determination, and faith.
“The only investments needed to achieve your goal are self-discipline, perseverance, and determination. With prayer and faith in God, nothing is impossible,” Montibon said.
Her achievement underscored the personal commitment required to reach weight management goals and demonstrated the practical value of an employee wellness program that encourages provincial government workers to prioritize their health.
Beyond the wellness program, the celebration also gave employees opportunities to showcase their talents through the Battle of the Bands and the Mutya at Ginoo ng PGSC.
The activities brought together employees from different offices and provided opportunities for interaction beyond their regular workplace responsibilities.
The Employees Day celebration forms part of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato’s continuing efforts to promote employee wellness and development, recognizing that a healthy, engaged, and supported workforce is essential to delivering responsive, efficient, and people-centered public services to South Cotabato residents.
