South Cotabato Expands Adolescent Health Education In Communities

SOUTH COTABATO — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato continues to roll out its Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Program through community sessions in Barangay Reyes, Banga and Barangay Ambalgan, Sto. Niño.

A total of 34 adolescents joined the AHD Film Sessions led by the Office of the Provincial Population Officer with support from local government units and partners.

The sessions used film to encourage discussion on self-awareness, decision-making, and adolescent challenges in a safe and interactive setting. Educational materials were also distributed to reinforce learning.

Provincial Population Officer Melanie Chiva said the program helps guide young people.

“When adolescents are informed and heard, they become more confident in making responsible decisions,” she said.

Participants said the activity improved their understanding and confidence in handling daily challenges.

The program reflects the youth-focused initiatives of Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., bringing essential learning directly to communities.
