KORONADAL CITY , SOUTH COTABATO PHILIPPINES | FEBRUARY 24, 2026 —The Provincial Government of South Cotabato continues to intensify its blood donation campaign across municipalities to ensure a stable and adequate supply for the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital Blood bank.
Emy Santillan, a medical technologist at the South Cotabato Blood Bank, emphasized that sustaining blood donation activities is vital to maintain adequate supplies for emergencies, surgeries, maternal cases, and other critical medical needs.
Earlier, the Provincial Government, through the Office of the Governor and in coordination with the Provincial Peace and Order Council, led a blood donation drive at the South Cotabato Cultural Gymnasium in Koronadal, drawing volunteer donors from various sectors to help strengthen the provincial blood bank.
Similar donation drives were also conducted in different localities. The Municipality of Lake Sebu also staged a blood letting activity dubbed “Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay,” alongside another donation drive at the covered gymnasium of Barangay Zone II in Koronadal City.
“These coordinated efforts demonstrate the province’s strong commitment to prioritizing blood bank operations and ensuring readiness to respond to increasing healthcare demands. ” Santillan emphasized.
She added that continuous community support plays a vital role in sustaining a safe and reliable blood supply for patients across South Cotabato.
The Provincial Government expects more activities like this to be conducted in the coming months as part of its flagship program under Governor Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr., which prioritizes the strengthening of the provincial hospital’s blood bank to better serve the health needs of every south Cotabateno.
