KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Province of South Cotabato is set to receive a major boost in its healthcare infrastructure development for 2026 through a ₱200-million funding support from the MELCO Resorts Foundation.
Provincial Engineer Lloyd M. Esparagosa, CE, and GE announced that the funding will cover several hospital infrastructure projects aimed at improving healthcare services across the province.
According to Esparagosa, ₱100 million has been allotted for the proposed three-storey South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, which is expected to enhance the province’s capacity to provide quality medical services to residents.
Another ₱50 million will be allocated for the proposed Manuel C. Callejo Infirmary Hospital in the City of Koronadal, while the remaining ₱50 million will fund the development of the Tantangan District Hospital.
Esparagosa expressed optimism that the procurement process for the projects could begin by June 2026 following the completion and submission of all necessary requirements.
“We are hopeful that by June 2026, procurement activities can already start once all documentary and technical requirements are completed,” Esparagosa said.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. likewise assured the public that the infrastructure projects will be implemented within the year, emphasizing the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and expanding access to medical facilities for South Cotabateños.
The upcoming hospital projects form part of the province’s continuing efforts to improve public healthcare infrastructure and respond to the growing healthcare needs of communities across South Cotabato.
