KORONADAL CITY- As partners of local government units in disaster resilience, the Department of Interior and Local Government Region XII and Province of South Cotabato spearheaded an orientation and dialogue on “Operation L!sto”
The “Operation L!isto” focuses on the 3 components “listong pamahalaang lokal”, “listong pamayanan”, and “listong pamilyang Pilipino,” strengthening the preparation and response in every impending hazards.
Relmie T. Tamson, DRRM-CC Focal Person of DILG XII, said Operation Listo is an advocacy program of DILG using the whole of government approach.
On the said dialogue, the LDRRM officers share the best disaster preparedness practices so that other lgu’s may adopt.
Cyrus Jose Urbano, CDRRM officer of the city of koronadal, shared the local version of emergency hotline, 911. Hotline 911 can directly inform proper agencies within the city in times of emergency. This 911 hotline can only be accessed by TM and GLOBE network subscribers for free.
SMART subscribers, however, can dial 3210000 for immediate emergency response.
LGU Disaster Preparedness Manual were distributed to LGUs who were present. The manual is given entitled for the Local Chief Executive, Chief of Police, Fire Marshall, LDRRM Officer and LGOOs.
Representatives of various LGUs signed the Pledge of Support and Commitment to develop “culture of disaster resiliency and preparedness” that Operation L!sto would like to aim.
